Position Title: Business Analyst V Duration: 6 months Schedule: Monday – Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Location: Toronto, Ontario (4 days a week on site)
Department Overview:
The Internal Audit team consists of trusted professionals who provide independent oversight and strategic guidance across all areas of the bank.
The team plays a critical role in risk mitigation, governance, and operational excellence by conducting thorough audits, identifying control gaps, and recommending improvements.
This role offers exposure to various business lines, including capital markets, and supports maintaining strong regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute audit assignments in accordance with established audit plans and standards.
Perform control testing, including walkthroughs, test script development, and execution.
Independently lead walkthrough meetings and document processes.
Support audit planning activities, including risk assessments and audit program development.
Prepare key audit documentation such as: Audit Planning Memorandum (APM), Process Risk and Control Matrix (pRCM), Findings Grid, and Audit Reports.
Identify control gaps and assess associated risks.
Document audit findings and support issue validation and management.
Conduct follow-ups on audit findings and ensure proper resolution and documentation.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (approx. 50% interaction).
Participate in regular meetings and provide updates on audit progress.
Provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Must-Have Qualifications:
5–8 years of relevant audit experience
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
Professional certification: CPA or CIA (mandatory)
Strong knowledge of audit methodologies and internal controls
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Experience working cross-functionally in complex environments
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
Experience in Capital Markets
Additional certifications such as CFA or FRM
Prior experience within TD or large financial institutions
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
