Job Description

Title: Business Analyst IV
Duration: 7 Months
Working hours:  Monday to Friday- core business hours (2 days onsite. Could potentially change in the future).
Working Location: Toronto ON
 
Role Mandate:
Reporting to the Manager, TDS G&C, the primary role of the Senior Analyst, TDS G&C, is to ensure internal control testing is effectively and efficiently conducted based on the requirements of the 2nd line functions (e.g., Compliance, Risk, AML, etc.). Ensure internal control testing is effectively and efficiently conducted based on the requirements of the 2nd line functions.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of Value Chain (VC), Assessable Unit (AU), and Unique Business Process (UBP) inventories.
  • Assess multiple individual processes concurrently, consolidate risks and controls across processes to eliminate duplication, and identify any gaps in processes as well as process inventory.
  • Assist with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) documentation and engage other risk partners in RCSA execution.
  • Assist with RCSA interim updates as operational risk events/issues arise.
  • Execute testing of key controls within established deadlines, applying Banking testing methodology.
  • Ensure that exceptions are appropriately analysed, reported, and tracked to resolution. Further, support TDS Businesses in developing action/remediation plans to address internal control gaps as well as the root cause themes.
  • Support the assessment of Key Risk Indicators.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, realize efficiencies in testing (where possible) and deliver a better testing experience to TDS Businesses.
  • Assist with ad-hoc initiatives and strategies from a risk and control perspective.

Education & Experience
  • Degree/Certifications Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Years of experience: 3 plus years
Must haves:
  • Risk and Control Self-Assessment experience
  • Advance knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics
  • Prior audit experience, quality control testing experience MS Excel (formulas)
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
  • Ability to analyze, research, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
Skills:
  • Advance knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics
  • Prior audit experience, quality control testing experience, or familiarity with Bank testing methodology.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends.
  • Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques is an asset.
  • Skill in using computer applications, including MS Excel (formulas), PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships.
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions.
  • Ability to analyze, research, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Understanding of TDS business operations and processes is an asset
