Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst – Foreign Exchange
Work location: Hybrid Onsite 3 days per week, Chicago, IL
Duration: 3months Contract to Hire - based on work performance, need and budget availability

Project Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst to join our Product Development group for foreign exchange (FX) trading. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in building out a target operating model for our front office trading platforms, including Execution Management Systems (EMS), Order Management Systems (OMN) and Portfolio Management Systems (PMS). This role requires a deep understanding of front office trading systems, FX markets and technical acumen to effectively bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions.

Work hours: 7:00am - 4:30pm OR 8:00am - 5:00pm CST

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Admin, IT or a related fields
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in the capital markets sector, with a focus on front office trading systems and FX trading.
  • Strong knowledge of EMS, OMS and PMS platforms and their role in trading operations
  • Demonstrated experience in developing target operating models and implementing process improvements
  • Proficiency in business analysis techniques, including requirements gathering, process mapping and documentation
  • Technically savvy with the ability to understand system architectures, data flows and integration points
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Key Responsibilities:

Target Operating Model Development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document the target operating model for front office trading
  • Analyze current state processes, systems, and workflows to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and implement best practices for EMS, OMS and PMS integration & usage


Business Analysis
  • Gather and document detailed business requirements from front office trading teams and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for technology teams
  • Conduct impact analysis and feasibility studies for proposed changes and enhancements


System Implementation & Support
  • Support the implementation of new trading platforms and system upgrades
  • Participate in system testing, including developing test cases, performing user acceptance testing and coordinating with users for feedback
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for front office trading systems


Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as a liaison between front office trading teams, IT, vendors and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication & collaboration
  • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to review project progress, address issues and gather feedback


Technical Expertise
  • Leverage technical knowledge to understand system architectures, data flows and integration points
  • Work closely with developers to ensure technical solutions align with business requirements and industry standards
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes and emerging technologies in FX trading
