The Cropping Systems team within Seed Product Development is seeking a Systems Research Agronomist.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing new cropping systems in partnership with a team of scientists from client’s R&D, with a focus on water-limited and managed irrigation environments in the western US. Responsibilities will include design and analysis of multi-crop, systems-level agronomic trials, development of agronomic recommendations, and responsibility for research collaborations, farmer and agronomist interactions and business relationships.
Qualifications
PhD or MS in agronomy, plant physiology, plant breeding or ecology, with an emphasis in water-limited cropping systems.
Knowledge of and applied, in-field experience with multi-crop systems. Research experience with brassica crops and renewable fuels are advantageous but not required.
Experience with field research processes and data analyses and utilization.
Excellent interpersonal skills required for effectively developing strong internal and external working relationships, as well as working with farmers.
Strong organizational skills to plan and coordinate experiments across locations.
Independent, highly motivated, and self-directed scientist.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work in varying environments to conduct field activities (such as data collection).
Some travel required.
