We are seeking a motivated associate scientist to join the genomic medicine unit, focused on developing gene therapies for neuromuscular disorders. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting research activities of the team, by providing rigorous scientific skills, with a particular emphasis on molecular/cellular biology and in vivo techniques. The incumbent will work along scientists within the team as well as outside of it.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently run experiments and data analysis supporting program progress.
• Establish cell-based screening assays for novel compounds.
• Support in vivo studies.
• Develop and maintain a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
• Possess strong presentation and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ensure team’s accountability and adherence to company’s quality guidelines and requirements (e.g. electronic lab notebook).
Basic Qualifications:
• BA in life science or related fields with at least 2-4 years of experience as associate scientist in an academic or biotech/biopharma lab.
• Strong molecular biology expertise (etc. RNA/DNA isolation, qPCR-digital PCR assays, ELISA, imaging, etc.).
• Cell culture expertise (maintenance of cells and transfection of nucleic acids).
• Experience in animal handling (mice), injection, and tissue collection.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas and document research.
