Job Description

Location: Juncos, PR

Summary: Under direct supervision, performs processes according to Standard Operating Procedures in the Manufacturing area.

Functions:

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  • Set up and prepare equipment for operations.
  • Responsible for internal support operations (e.g., stocking items, autoclaving, tracking inventory).
  • Assist in manufacturing operations.
  • Prepare media and buffers and/or dispense raw materials and record transactions in appropriate system(s).
  • May operate process automation and building monitoring systems.
  • May act as safety representative; conduct regular safety inspections, report incidents, and promote a culture of safety within the team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Document activities as appropriate (i.e., MPs and logs) using Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
  • Comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and safety requirements.
  • Apply basic job skills and knowledge of procedures and processes.
  • Complete a variety of assignments (e.g., performing routine lab support procedures, operating specialized equipment), typically recurring tasks and standardized activities.
  • Recognize when deviation from accepted practice is required.
  • Use basic analytical skills to solve task-related problems, including fact-finding, information search and gathering, verifying data, and compilation.
  • Identify and resolve routine and recurring problems; problems may involve uncommon variations of issues or situations.
  • Address problems that may involve uncommon variations of issues or situations.
  • Refer more complex problems appropriately.
  • Typically receive general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new assignments.
  • Receive regular supervision for most assignments; work guided by standard procedures.
  • Work according to priorities set by others and in accordance with pre-determined deadlines.
  • Contribute to own team/closely related teams through the quality and efficiency of own work.
  • Support the team to achieve goals.

Knowledge:

  • Established knowledge of routine activities within own job.
  • Applies basic job skills and knowledge of procedures and processes.
  • Basic knowledge of set technical/functional procedures pertaining to own area.
  • Completes a variety of assignments (e.g., performing routine lab support procedures, operating specialized equipment).
  • Recognizes when deviation from accepted practice is required.

Qualifications:

  • High school/GED.
  • Ability to perform basic computer operations, such as navigating in MS Office, using email, and completing training using Computer Based Training (CBT).
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, operate, and understand equipment per procedures.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Be able to perform visual inspection of product to ensure absence of defects and repetitive tasks (8+ hrs per day)
  • Seating for extended periods of time
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift in support of operations that may include 24/7.
  • Availability to work non-standard shifts, holidays, weekends, as per business needs.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.
  • Experience in a GMP or other regulated environment.
  • Organizational skills and an ability to perform assignments with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Capacity to follow written procedures, recognize and report malfunctions, and make adjustments to equipment.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
