Title: Architect Digital Manufacturing
Location: Hershey, PA (Hybrid)
Duration: 9+ Months
 
Description:
 The Architect for Digital Manufacturing Solutions is a technical solutions manager, focused on leveraging technology in manufacturing to transform business processes, improve visibility, enable the workforce, and improve operational agility, quality, and productivity. You will be working with small, multi-disciplinary teams to develop TrakSYS solutions for our manufacturing plants. The Architect conceptualizes, designs, documents, constructs, tests, and implements industrial applications and hardware technologies to enable our plant’s digital transformation. Applications range from OEE applications to full-scale MES/MOM applications across multiple facilities.
 
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Leads the design, development, and implementation of MES/MOM and system integration solutions projects
  • Responsible for solution architecture modeling and documentation, specification development, and technical design decisions for prioritized projects
  • Effectively works with implementation partners and development teams to efficiently translate business requirements into functional capabilities
  • Assesses complex technical environments and defines requirements for integration of new solutions, maintenance, and optimization
  • Ensures solutions are scalable and can be sustained with close adherence to reference architectures and standards
  • Interacts and works with customers at multiple levels of responsibility in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Collaborates with business partners to advise, define and deliver capabilities in alignment with business and IT strategy
 
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in software development
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience developing or leading the development of MES, MOM, or manufacturing applications
  • 2+ years’ experience configuring and developing Parsec TrakSYS applications
  • Experience programming in C# .NET
  • Experience with T-SQL
  • ISA-95 expertise and ability to architect manufacturing information solutions
  • Expertise in all project phases including design, development, and implementation
  • Experience with customer requirements and specification development
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, have excellent attention to detail, and be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Must be able to work successfully in a matrix structure, focused strongly on customer service and personnel growth
  • Must have experience successfully interacting and working with customers at multiple levels of responsibility in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Must have solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to travel up to 20% of the time and work in a plant environment.
Nice to Have:
  • Strong experience with C# .NET & MS SQL Server
  • Experience with 3rd party web controls (DevExtreme or equivalent)
  • Experience with design and development of interfaces with business systems (ERP, WMS, PLM, etc.)
  • Experience with OPC UA
  • Experience with UNS
  • MES platform experience (Rockwell, Siemens, AVEVA, Ignition/Sepasoft, etc.)
  • Experience with IIoT, Cloud, MQTT-Spark Plug.
