Job Title: Application Release Engineer V Location: Toronto, Ontario – Hybrid (2 days in office) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Duration: 6 months (Extension Possible | Conversion Possible)About the Role We are seeking a Senior Application Release Engineer V to join our dynamic team of 22 professionals. This role is a backfill position that will contribute to critical projects focused on improving the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our systems. The successful candidate will embrace an automation-first, design-driven approach to software delivery, driving the end-to-end deployment process while collaborating with internal stakeholders across multiple regions.Key Responsibilities
Provide direction and influence the design and operation of systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
Lead automation initiatives across the application deployment pipeline, including infrastructure as code, source code management, and CI/CD tools.
Execute software deployments and releases across all regions and environments, solving technical problems as they arise.
Maintain DevOps tooling, processes, and testing ecosystems to support high environment availability for development and testing teams.
Communicate best practices for end-to-end software delivery and mentor team members.
Engage with internal stakeholders (~75% of the role) to anticipate needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
Measure performance through deliverables, quality of work, and feedback from peers and partners.
Required Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in highly regulated industries (FI experience an asset).
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and VMware Cloud.
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and orchestration tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
Strong customer focus with the ability to anticipate and address needs proactively.
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Proficiency with SaltStack.
Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes.
