Department:
The Electric Operations Strategy (EOE) organization provides enterprise?level strategic Support, and operational enablement for Electric T&D. The department partners closely with leadership to translate utility?wide priorities into executable operating processes, scalable pilots/solutions, and measurable performance outcomes.
EOE serves as a connective layer between field operations, program execution, data and digital enablement, and enterprise strategy, ensuring that initiatives are prioritized, standardized, and delivered in a way that improves safety, reliability, affordability, and operational efficiency.
Position Summary
The Manager, Electric Operations Strategy leads the planning, governance, and execution of a portfolio of strategic initiatives, programs, and pilots that advance Electric Operations priorities.
This role serves as a critical bridge between strategy and execution—providing structure, discipline, and cross?functional coordination to ensure initiatives are prioritized effectively, delivered on schedule, and scaled for sustained operational impact.
The Manager partners closely with operations, data and digital teams, and executive stakeholders to drive performance transparency, resolve cross?organizational dependencies, and translate leadership direction into measurable, repeatable outcomes.
This is a fast-paced, high-impact and high-visibility role that puts this individual right in the center of the Electric strategy org, to enable catastrophic wildfire risk reduction, climate adaptation, climate mitigation, and improved affordability for the customers that the client has the privilege to serve.
Job Responsibilities will include:
Help define scope and objectives of pilot projects
Support project planning and permitting
Align on roles and responsibilities with partners and relevant cross-functional the client teams
Maintain ongoing communications cadence with partner organizations
Identify, analyze, and address project performance issues
Ensure quality of project delivery, troubleshooting with pilot partners as needed to accomplish project goals
Track and review project deliverables
Communicate project status to wildfire resilience partnerships team
Coordinate partner projects with the client operations as needed
Assess project risk and develop contingency plans; and identify and communicate lessons learned and best practices
Manage technical implementation plan across projects
Coordinate and participate in field visits
Support financial forecasting and budget development
Support implementation of new project valuation methodologies as needed
Support development and recruitment of matching funding sources for partnership projects as needed
Qualifications:
6-8 years of experience managing portfolio of related or relevant experience
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in business
Experience leading or supporting programs, initiatives, or portfolios within operations, strategy, or operational excellence functions
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams or initiatives simultaneously
Experience working in a cross?functional, matrixed environment with operations and business stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting leadership?level updates and decision?making
Desired:
Background in wildfire, forestry, and/or climate
PMP Certifications
Ability to work effectively with senior staff members and management
Ability to effectively collaborate with external regulatory, governmental, business or customer groups
Note:
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned location based on business need. Travel Estimated at 1 day out of the work week to report to office locations within the bay area.
