The Accounting Assistant provides initial support for financial transactions, including processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with customer and vendor inquiries. This role is ideal for candidates beginning their career in finance or accounting, offering opportunities to develop technical and soft skills in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process basic transaction work, including ticket entry, freight processing, and AP/AR transactions
Enter contracts,
Assist with invoicing and payments
Review receivables and payables needing additional paperwork
Utilize internal operating systems (e.g., SAP) for research and problem-solving
Respond to internal inquiries professionally and promptly
Support assigned customer problems
Maintain compliance with safety protocols, policies, and procedures
Required Skills & Competencies:
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Ability to communicate effectively in English (B2+ & up)
Basic time management and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
High ethical standards and strong work ethic
Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships
Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
Familiarity in ERP a plus
Education & Experience:
High School Degree or Technical High School degree in "Accounting" (highly desirable).
