Job Title: Strategic Account Manager (Account Manager V) Duration: 9 months Location: Onsite at Burlingame, CA (3 days a week)
We are seeking a highly analytical and organized individual to join our team as an Strategic Account Manager, reporting to the General Manager of Distribution in the North America region. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for devising and implementing a sales strategy at the customer level, aligned with the overall organizational goals.
The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across internal cross-functional partners - including Category Management, Product Management, Business Development, Data Science, Channel Marketing, and Sales Operations. The position entails establishing and strengthening relationships with the client’s 3P Retail partners to drive the client’s AR & VR hardware vision.
The ideal candidate should be customer-focused, driven to make the client’s “our retail partner’s best partner", and thrive in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
This role requires candidate to be located at the client’s Burlingame office a minimum of three days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Leading a specific category (AR or VR) strategy and tactics for corresponding business objectives
Driving & Executing business and marketing budgets required to achieve KPIs/objectives
Ensuring forecast accuracy goals are met and identifies risks against internal demand plan to organization
Sharing account-level knowledge frequently to teams by publishing weekly business reporting and sales reviews
Leveraging sales dashboards and data tools to share account insights while identifying trends that require attention
Providing clear account business context to internal/external stakeholders on KPI progress
Managing account day-to-day activities and developing Annual Strategy rolled-up into GM strategy
Partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize efficiencies within internal strategic framework
Working closely with cross-functional team to provide insights and data for the development of Annual Customer Plans, Quarterly Business Reviews, Joint Business Plans and Collaborative Planning and Forecasting (CPFR) process
Working directly with Business Analytics teams to review and help drive projects that help inform decision making
Driving key retail partner initiatives/project based where necessary
Demonstrating a strong ability for creating business briefings and recaps to maintain clear communication with leadership teams and cross-functional partners
Expert level understanding of category strategy and business objectives
Understanding and applying comprehensive knowledge in category and product specialization
Demonstrating value to internal and external partners by sharing expertise on product features
Understanding and communicating differences and advantages of the client’s products relative to competition
Identifying market share ranking at partner and sharing any risks with the organization
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS in Business or Marketing-related field or similar work experience
5+ years experience in Sales, Account Management or Business Development with accounts in Mass Retailers, Club, Regional and .com Channels in Consumer Electronic categories
Familiarity with leveraging a distribution model to support retailers
Knowledge of Consumer Electronic market, industry trends, market conditions and competitive landscape
Proven track record in delivery of sales quotas against business plans
Experience managing collaborative workload within timeframes
Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills
Prior experience negotiating annual partner contracts and agreements
Proficiency with Salesforce, Tableau, Microsoft and all GSuite work applications
Top 3 must-have HARD skills:
Proven track record in delivery of sales quotas against business plans, sales and negotiation experience
Experience managing collaborative workload within timeframes established
Strong negotiation, communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
Analytical skills to digest and understand sales reports needed to support the business
Good to have skills:
Prior experience working in the consumer electronic space or a good knowledge of industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape
Experience with partnering with retailers (National & Regional) and working with distributors
Familiarity working with distributors and understanding on distribution models
Knowledgeable on the Consumer Electronic market, industry trends, market conditions and competitive landscape
