Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to provide comprehensive engineering support to our manufacturing operations. This role encompasses design, development, and implementation of PLC projects, as well as providing technical support across various facility areas. The ideal candidate will possess 0-2 years of experience with key skills in Rockwell Control Logix PLC code, electrical design review, and robotic systems (preferred). This position demands a proactive approach in identifying programming issues, developing countermeasures, and delivering technical training and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and contribute to the creation of solutions for project-specific challenges.
Participate in and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with manufacturing and other functional groups to ensure regulatory compliance.
Author, execute, and report on validation activities.
Design and conduct routine testing, project experiments, and analyze data, reporting results.
Conduct engineering studies on new equipment to determine optimal settings and control points.
Initiate and revise protocols and operating instructions specific to projects.
Perform Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations and related tasks.
Manage and execute change control activities related to equipment.
Provide technical support and training within the production department.
Interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to operating policies as appropriate.
Assist in the design, installation, and start-up of new equipment and systems.
Perform technical troubleshooting and implement solutions for both existing and new equipment/systems.
Coordinate with internal and external cross-functional teams on projects related to existing and new product lines.
Frequently move between office and production floor, work in a cleanroom environment without daylight/windows, and occasionally ascend/descend ladders to access machinery.
Required Qualifications:
Education: BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering preferred).
Experience: 0-2 years in a relevant field.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Allen-Bradley Control Logix, AB500, and Safety PLCs.
Familiarity with Allen-Bradley HMI systems.
Understanding of TCP/IP networks, RS-232 interfaces, Profibus communication, Fieldbus, and HSSB.
Hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with a strong understanding of Category 3 Safety Systems, E-Plan P8, and AutoCAD.
Ability to read and draw electrical schematics.
Knowledge of servo control systems (Rockwell, Yaskawa preferred), drives (servo and VFD), motion control, encoders, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Familiarity with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence preferred).
Programming skills (C#, C++, VB, SQL Server) are a bonus.
