Technical Project Manager III
Burlingame CA (Onsite)
6+ months (Possible Extension)
 
Summary:
  • The main function of the SW Experiences technical project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities for the development, testing and release of software experience on new and in-market Wearables Products.
 
Must-Have Skills:
  1. Strong written and spoken communication skills
  2. 5 to 7 years of experience as a technical program manager, engineering manager, or product manager, leading software development
  3. Software development experience and software development program planning
 
Nice to have skills:
  • Former big tech experience
  • Consumer Electronics development
  • Software quality assurance
  • Command Line Interface
  • Android Development Tools (ADB)
  • Demonstration coordination and logistics
  • Agile ceremony planning and execution
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute technical program plans, driving alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, develop mitigation strategies, align on priorities, and set direction for a broadly cross-functional area.
  • Communicate planning, program status, issues, and risks in a timely manner to stakeholders, distilling complex topics into clear communications for program stakeholders and executive management.
  • Lead launch and release activities related to end-to-end software features and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with wide-ranging teams, including product management, user experience, software engineering, hardware, firmware, QA, and data science, to deliver high-quality products that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
Skills:
  • Expert Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Knowledge of SDLC methodologies
  • Knowledge of consumer electronics software
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
  • Knowledge of computer software, such as databases, SQL, excel, gsuite
  • Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to delivery.
  • Knowledge of software and hardware product development processes.
  • Experience with software development for consumer devices.
  • Demonstrated experience with delivering innovative software technologies.
  • Experience in software engineering process definition and improvements at scale.
 
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred
 
Purpose/Size of this team & where does this position fit within the team?             
  • Sit at the top of the stack of wearables team and working on experiences for the wearables, 6-7 members on team
 
How will performance be measured?    
  • Meeting project deliverables and being able to communicate concisely/how independent they are in their work
 
Years of Experience:      
  • 5 to 7 years of experience as a technical program manager, engineering manager, or product manager, leading software development.
 
Degrees/Certifications Required:           
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
  • PMI or PMP certification preferred
