Job Title: Software Engineering Manager (Salesforce)
Duration of project: 6 months
Location: Remote
About the Role:
As the Software Engineering Manager reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of Salesforce Developers, Admins, and QA Analysts. This is a critical leadership role in building, evolving, and supporting solutions on the Salesforce Health Cloud and Data Cloud platforms.
You’ll combine strong technical expertise with people leadership, helping your team deliver high-quality, scalable solutions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and collaboration.
What You’ll Do:
Collaborate with Product teams to understand requirements, join discovery calls with stakeholders, and help articulate what is possible and what is not.
Design solutions that align with product requirements and Salesforce standards and best practices.
Document detailed solution designs, including ERDs, process flows, and architectural decisions, and maintain these artifacts
Present proposed solutions during architecture review meetings before build starts.
Ensure all development work is performed in appropriate sandboxes and deployed through Copado following documented processes.
Oversee peer reviews, ensuring adherence to quality gates and documentation standards.
Support and guide the QA team in functional, regression, and automated testing, ensuring defects are properly tracked and resolved.
Assist product teams with user acceptance testing coordination.
Act as technical lead for all releases: ensuring completeness, readiness, and alignment with change control processes
Coordinate with product to deliver releases on schedule, and communicate proactively about any changes.
Participate in release calls, including after-hours deployment support.
Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of production issues promptly, minimizing business impact.
Keep Production Support teams informed about upcoming changes.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Salesforce Developers, Admins, and QAs.
Conduct regular 1:1s, quarterly performance reviews, and provide coaching, feedback, and career growth opportunities.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Address performance issues decisively, including performance improvement plans when necessary.
Participate in hiring to identify candidates who are humble, hungry, and smart.
Contribute directly to development work when needed to unblock teams and support delivery velocity.
Drive and participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions to establish and uphold best practices.
Deliver regular engineering reports and insights to leadership.
Collaborate on technical and product roadmaps, offering feedback and ideas.
What You’ll Bring:
7+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
Deep expertise in Salesforce Service Cloud or Health Cloud, including configuration and programmatic customization.
Strong understanding of microservice architecture, relational databases, and APIs.
Experience implementing scalable, performant solutions centered around user experience.
Familiarity with tools such as Copado, Confluence, Jira, and CI/CD practices.
Solid understanding of Agile development; participation in daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Required certifications:
Salesforce Certified Administrator
Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder
Salesforce Certified Data Architect or Application Architect
Additional Salesforce certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud) are a plus.
