Job Description

Title: HR Generalist
Location: Remote
Assignment Duration: 3 months

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted HR consultant and primary point of contact for employees and managers within assigned populations, providing timely, accurate guidance on HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Partner closely with managers on day-to-day employee related activities, including performance management, attendance, employee concerns, corrective action, and team dynamics, applying established frameworks with consistency and sound judgment.
  • Coach and support managers through complex employee situations, including difficult conversations, performance documentation, and the development and execution of Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), ensuring alignment with policy and best practices.
  • Apply HR policies consistently, fairly, and accurately, exercising discretion and escalating higher-risk or more complex issues to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) as appropriate.
  • Balance a high level of service and responsiveness with strong operational discipline, ensuring HR processes are executed efficiently while maintaining a positive employee and manager experience.
HR Lifecycle Execution & HR Initiatives
  • Coordinate the local execution of annual HR programs such as annual and mid-year performance review process, compensation reviews, talent calibrations, and engagement surveys.
  • Execute core HR lifecycle activities including career architecture changes and hygiene, internal transfers and promotions, support for the talent acquisition process and onboarding on new talent, support for leave of absence related questions from employees and managers, offboarding support for exiting employees.
  • Ensure data integrity within the HRIS (Fusion) by auditing organizational changes and career architecture updates.
  • With guidance from HRBPs, implement business-specific people initiatives including engagement activities and local HR initiatives aligned to culture and belonging OKRs, organizational changes and reductions in force.
  • Identify trends in employee data (turnover, exit interviews) and propose tactical solutions to improve retention and morale.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) like Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Compensation, Payroll and Benefits to resolve localized bottlenecks.
  • Participate in HR projects focused on process improvement, standardization, or operational efficiency.
Employee Relations
  • Manage low- to moderately complex employee relations matters from intake through resolution, including grievances, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and compliance with applicable local labor laws and practices, ensuring consistency, fairness, and sound documentation.
  • Conduct and support internal investigations by gathering facts, maintaining accurate records, assessing risk, and developing well-reasoned recommendations, while partnering with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and escalating high-risk or executive-level matters to HRBP or Legal as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment and discretion while managing sensitive and confidential matters, applying established policies and practices thoughtfully and professionally in complex and emotionally charged situations.
Compliance & Policy Application
  • Support compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations across jurisdictions, applying policies in alignment with standards.
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and documentation requests related to employee data, policy adherence, or regulatory needs.

Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3- 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally supporting professional workforces in a global and/or matrixed corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated experience handling employee relations matters with sound judgment and professionalism. Strong foundational knowledge of labor laws and experience managing formal disciplinary processes.
  • Solid working knowledge of employment law principles and HR best practices, with the ability to apply local legal and regulatory requirements across regions as needed.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and strong attention to detail in documentation and data management.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience supporting hybrid, global and/or geographically dispersed teams.
  • Organizationally agile and comfortable with ambiguity with the ability to pivot between different business unit needs quickly where collaboration with stakeholders may require flexible communication styles.
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion (or similar enterprise-level HRIS).
  • Intermediate proficiency required using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated AI literacy and the ability to use AI tools to enhance productivity by automating routine tasks and streamlining work to make faster, better informed decisions.
