Position Title: Clinical Pharmacist
Work Location: Newburyport, MA 01950
Assignment Duration: 5+ Months

Work Schedule:
Training Schedule: 9am-5:30pm for the first two weeks of training
Regular Schedule: Flexible hours, must be able to close 3 days a week (closing shift ends at 9pm),
Shift options: Five days M-F: o 2 shifts 9am-5:30pm | 3 shifts 12:30pm-9pm
Four days M-F: 1 shift 9am-7:30pm |  3 shifts 10:30am-9pm

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:
Consults with nursing and medical staff on prescription orders, patient reactions, and errors or complaints.
Conducts drug utilization reviews and prepares drug review criteria for medical staff approval.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interprets physicians' prescriptions and compounds and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines.
• Consults with customers regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions.
• Counsels customers and handles complex problem resolution.
• Performs first and second verification of prescription orders, performing DURs, outreach to prescriber offices.
• Fields phone calls from patients as well as prescriber’s offices.

Qualification & Experience:
• Computer skills, patient counseling skills, able to interact with prescribers.
• Accurate, efficient, and excellent customer service skills.
• At least one year as a registered pharmacist, retail or similar experience preferred.

Education:    

• BS or PharmD in Pharmacy
• PharmD degree preferred.
• MA and CA RPh license requried

Certifications & Licenses: 

• MA and CA RPh license
• Pharmacist License
