Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive program execution and manage stakeholders, dependencies, and external vendor relationships for uLED backplane silicon programs, from early development through high-volume manufacturing.

The TPM will work across two primary sets of relationships: internally, coordinating with cross-functional teams including display silicon, uLED, test, packaging, product engineering, and sourcing; and externally, managing collaboration with foundry and silicon vendor partners.

This individual will translate high-level milestones into detailed, actionable schedules, track cross-functional dependencies, manage communication between internal teams and vendors, and ensure critical decisions and updates are communicated to all dependent stakeholders.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience managing complex hardware or semiconductor programs, driving cross-functional execution, working with external manufacturing or silicon partners, and bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Internal Cross-Functional Coordination

• Lead recurring meetings and program reviews across uLED, silicon, test, packaging, product engineering, and sourcing teams.
• Drive alignment across multiple engineering and operational workstreams.
• Track key decisions, dependencies, risks, and action items.
• Identify and resolve execution gaps before they require escalation.
• Ensure stakeholders remain aligned on priorities, timelines, ownership, and program decisions.

External Vendor Interface Management

• Manage recurring meetings and program reviews with external foundry and silicon vendor partners.
• Lead joint working sessions, milestone reviews, and face-to-face meetings as needed.
• Drive vendors to execute against defined technical and program requirements.
• Maintain integrated program schedules that connect internal milestones with vendor-committed deliverables and dates.
• Identify and escalate schedule, technical, or execution misalignment early.
• Facilitate effective two-way and multi-party communication between internal stakeholders and external partners.

Program Tracking and Reporting

• Develop and maintain authoritative program trackers across internal and external workstreams.
• Translate high-level program commitments into detailed, task-level schedules with clear owners, dependencies, milestones, and target dates.
• Track overall program health, execution progress, and critical path dependencies.
• Produce regular milestone readouts, status updates, and decision items for engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Use program management and tracking tools such as Smartsheet and Jira to manage cross-functional hardware programs.

Risk and Dependency Management

• Maintain a living risk register covering:
  • Technical execution risks
  • Vendor delivery risks
  • Schedule and critical path risks
  • IP and confidentiality concerns
  • Cross-functional dependencies
• Drive mitigation plans with clearly defined owners and resolution dates.
• Surface critical risks and dependencies early and facilitate timely decision-making.
• Prepare concise risk summaries and escalation materials for leadership reviews.

Program Execution

• Drive complex hardware and silicon programs from early development and prototype phases through qualification, validation, and high-volume manufacturing.
• Coordinate execution across multiple engineering disciplines, including silicon, hardware, test, and packaging.
• Manage programs involving multiple external vendors, manufacturing partners, foundries, and silicon suppliers.
• Operate effectively in ambiguous environments with changing requirements and aggressive launch timelines.
• Drive decisions and execution forward even when information is incomplete.
• Ensure action items are clearly documented, assigned, tracked, and driven to closure.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in an equivalent project/program management role within a hardware or silicon development environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate execution across multiple engineering teams, including silicon, hardware, test, packaging, and other cross-functional partners.
• Proven ability to translate high-level program commitments and milestones into actionable schedules with clear owners, dependencies, and target dates.
• Experience working with external vendors, contract manufacturers, foundries, or other manufacturing partners.
• Exposure to the hardware development lifecycle, including prototype development, qualification, validation, and mass production.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting program status, risks, dependencies, and key decisions to engineering and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive decisions despite incomplete information and follow through on action items across multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with shifting requirements and aggressive launch timelines.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting semiconductor or silicon development programs across foundry, OSAT, or silicon vendor interfaces.
• Familiarity with display silicon, uLED, microLED, or related electro-optical technologies.
• Experience managing complex programs involving multiple external vendors and manufacturing partners.
• Experience working across time zones with international foundries, OSATs, and vendor partners.
• Working knowledge of program tracking and milestone reporting tools such as Smartsheet and Jira.
• Experience translating complex engineering status, technical risks, and program dependencies into concise briefings for engineering and sourcing leadership.
• Experience supporting consumer hardware or device programs from prototype development and validation through high-volume/mass production.
