Title: Project/Program Manager I Duration: 6 months Location: Seattle, WA
Job Summary Responsible for the coordination of FAA certificate applications. This role schedules FAA interviews, verifies employee qualifications, and manages certificates for regulated maintenance positions. They will validate paperwork, set up FAA interviews for identity and training verification, track certificates throughout their lifecycle, and handle certificate recovery when employees leave.
Position Overview The organization is looking for an organized and detail-oriented FAA Certification & Compliance Specialist to support certification and compliance activities for regulated maintenance positions. This role will coordinate FAA certificate applications, schedule FAA interviews, verify employee qualifications and training, and maintain certification records. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing detailed workflows, working with regulated documentation, and identifying opportunities to improve processes. This is a 6-month contract with potential for extension and is based onsite in Seattle, WA.
Key Responsibilities • Coordinate FAA certificate applications for employees in regulated maintenance roles. • Schedule and coordinate FAA interviews following employee certificate applications. • Verify employee identity, qualifications, training, and other required documentation. • Manage and maintain repairman certificates and related employee certification records. • Ensure employees have completed required training and maintain the appropriate certifications before performing regulated work. • Track certification workflows from application through completion and ensure all required steps are completed accurately and on time. • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements. • Partner with internal teams supporting aircraft maintenance, crew records, training, and drug and alcohol compliance. • Maintain organized records and documentation using tools such as Adobe Acrobat and Excel. • Communicate with employees and internal stakeholders regarding certification requirements, documentation, and next steps. • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing certification processes and recommend opportunities for improvement. • Take ownership of assigned workflows and ensure work is completed accurately and within expected timelines. • Support additional compliance and certification-related activities as needed.
Basic Qualifications • 1+ year of relevant professional experience • Experience supporting FAA certification or regulated aviation certification processes • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Experience managing detailed documentation, records, or compliance workflows • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and email • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining accuracy • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work
Preferred Qualifications • Experience in aerospace or aviation • Experience with airline crew records, aircraft maintenance records, certifications, or compliance • Experience supporting HR, certification, licensing, or regulatory processes • Experience working with FAA-regulated environments • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance or aviation operations • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements • Experience working with sensitive or highly regulated employee records
