Job Description
Role Title: Pipeline Engineer IV
Duration: 12 Months
Office location: Calgary, AB /Edmonton, AB (Hybrid– 3 days onsite) (Mon, Tues, Thurs in office / Weds, Fri from home)
Responsibilities
As part of our Projects team, you’ll play a pivotal role in overseeing pipeline design and supporting construction execution—driving innovation, safety, and sustainability every step of the way.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design oversight and construction execution support of pipelines and associated facilities supporting projects.
What you will do:
· Ensure that all pipelines and associated facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate specifications and standards.
· Responsible for scheduling, cost control (cost estimates), and forecasting for the design work and for reporting these to the Pipeline Engineering Supervisor and Project Manager.
· Provide guidance in design reviews with outside engineering firms and with internal stakeholders.
· Work with Procurement & Supply Chain team to purchase materials and to contract Engineering related service providers.
· Provide technical assistance during construction and assist with on-site commissioning.
· Assist with the regulatory process by providing preliminary layout drawings, technical project descriptions, and other requested information for use in the application filing.
Who you are:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Professional Engineering designation (P Eng) with APEGA.
· Minimum 6 years of pipeline industry experience required such as experience on pipeline routing selections and design and working with geotechnical and hydro technical hazards.
· In depth, detailed knowledge of applicable codes such as CSA Z662, DOT CFR 192, DOT CFR 195, ASME B31, NACE, etc. Familiarity and knowledge of materials standards & specifications (CSA, ASME, API, etc.).
Trenchless design and feasibility analysis. Pipeline stress analysis and software, CEPA surface loading calculation.
· Effective interpersonal skills which include working a team focused environment and communication skills.
· Role requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
Working Conditions:
· Office environment.
· 10-20% travel to sites and other Enbridge offices (inc. USA)
