Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, independent Biologist I to join the QTAS (Quantitative, Translational and ADME Sciences) department at Client’s Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA. This role will focus on sample management and bioanalytical support for pre-clinical programs.
The LBA Bioanalytical group at ABC QTAS conducts quantitative bioanalysis assays of large molecule therapeutics, including monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), ADCs, fusion proteins, and bi-specific antibodies, for PK, PD, and TK studies using ligand binding assays to support drug discovery and early development efforts.
The main responsibilities of the Biologist I will include: Managing samples and reagents using electronic tools such as an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and Laboratory information management systems (LIMS); shipping and receiving lab samples and critical reagents; performing pre-analytical sample processing in compliance with environmental health and safety guidelines; conducting sample analysis using ligand binding assays; and generating high-quality bioanalytical data to enable data summary and PK analysis.

1. Bachelor’s degree in data science, pharmacology, or biology/chemistry with up to 2 years of previous pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience
2. **Previous sample/inventory management experience is required**
3. Strong attention to detail, proven problem-solving capacity, and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5. Proficiency with computers and data analysis software including Excel, Smartsheet and ELN and LIMS.


Duties & Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibilities (operational, ~80%):
o Coordinate and execute sample receiving and sample QC in LIMS and Smartsheet.
o Manage and maintain sample and critical reagent inventory, using LIMS and Smartsheet.
o Maintain freezers and sample discard scheduling per SOP
o Maintain, prepare, and periodically report lab metrics using Smartsheet and Power BI.
o Maintain and update analysis queue via Smartsheet.
o Adress sample discrepancies and communicate effectively and promptly with study leads.
• Secondary responsibilities (lab-facing, ~20%):
o As operational schedule allows, run ligand binding assays following BA protocols.
o Initiate, design, review, and troubleshoot assays independently and efficiently.
o Effectively communicate experimental plans and results orally and in writing.
o Archive data and information in ELN and LIMS accurately and promptly.
o Write and update experimental protocols and procedures with supervision.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, pharmacology, or biology/chemistry with up to 2 years of previous pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
• Previous sample/inventory management experience is required.
• Strong attention to detail, proven problem-solving capacity, and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to execute and troubleshoot workflows independently and efficiently.
• Ability to operate and maintain laboratory equipment with independence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to draft technical reports.
• Proficiency with computers and data analysis software including Excel and LIMS.
• Experience with Smartsheet and/or Power BI is strongly preferred.
• Experience in manual and automated ligand binding assay workflow is highly desirable.
• Experience in data-driven troubleshooting of ligand binding assays is highly desirable.
