Job Title: Materials Manager - Production Planner
Location: Westborough,MA
Duration: 7 Months 
Shift:  40hrs/week, M-F: 7am – 3:30 pm

Job Description:

A leading robotics and technology company based in the Greater Boston area is seeking an experienced and driven Production Planner to join their dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in optimizing production planning, improving processes, implementing planning technologies, and ensuring alignment across manufacturing, procurement, and logistics functions.

This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment, where hardware and software development occur under one roof, fostering rapid prototyping and agile decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and process-driven planner passionate about solving complex supply chain challenges.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain finite production schedules and material requirement plans based on forecasted demand, current inventory, and capacity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—manufacturing, procurement, and logistics—to ensure feasible and executable supply plans.

  • Manage inventory levels to optimize working capital while maintaining high service levels.

  • Participate in the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process to align supply plans with demand forecasts and business strategies.

  • Analyze supply-demand gaps and recommend scenario-based adjustments and mitigation plans.

  • Leverage planning tools, data analytics, and automation to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.

  • Monitor KPIs such as schedule adherence, inventory turns, and supplier performance to ensure operational excellence.

  • Support new product introductions by integrating supply planning needs into project plans.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in supply planning and related systems.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in production planning, supply chain, or related fields.

  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory management, and material planning.

  • Proficiency in supply chain tools and technologies.

  • Experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Effective problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Kinaxis Author or Advanced User.

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.

  • Experience implementing Lean/Six Sigma process improvements.

  • Knowledge of modern technologies such as IoT, machine learning, and advanced analytics in supply chain.

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
