Position Title: Global Senior Medical Program Manager
Work Location: Cambridge, MA 02142 - Hybrid, 2 days onsite/week
Assignment Duration: 5 Months
Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm est

Join us as a Global Medical Program Manager where you will provide program
management and leadership skills to the Medical Strategy Teams (MST) in the successful
management of multiple programs within a therapeutic area for Global Medical (GM). This will include leadership of MSTs and/or other program teams, in strategic direction and translating program strategy into an efficiently executable plan; predicting and planning solutions to achieve successful operational execution; driving the team to achieve forecast accuracy and effective risk management.
You will also partner closely with the Global Medical Unit Head (GMUH) and medical cross-
functional teams, as well as relevant global, regional and local Medical Affairs, Commercial and R&D functions, as required, to ensure that the medical and functional strategy is integrated into operational plans and systems. Serve as a partner to GM functional team members to manage program priorities, identify resource needs; initiate key strategic planning activities; report program progress; oversee program budget and execute communication. As part of the Global Medical Program Management team, you will report to the Head of Medical Program Management.
How you will contribute:
• Leads strategic and operational planning for Medical Strategy Teams (MSTs), overseeing
execution and critical path management.
• Partners with program medical leads in creation of strategies and supports the MST in
presenting these strategies to key stakeholders and decision makers. Adjusts program
strategy and priorities in response to changes in strategic direction.
• Leverages digital platforms and tools to enhance operational efficiency, streamline
communication, and enable timely data sharing across teams.
• Leverages generative AI and agentic technologies where possible to automate routine
tasks, support data-driven decision-making, and foster innovation in program execution.
• Champions cross-functional planning, communication, and execution to achieve program
goals.
• Manages the planning, operational and reporting of the MST (including but not limited to:
meeting management, meeting facilitation, development of materials with contributors,
capture and follow up of action items and deliverables, distribution of minutes and
maintenance of relevant site pages (or equivalent)
• Facilitate the MST and/or other group meetings and ensure agendas are appropriate to enable discussions and decisions within the team.
• Drives financial planning and manage program budgets, spending, risks, and opportunities, in partnership with the program medical leads and MST team.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align financial plans with strategic objectives,
ensuring optimal resource allocation and spending efficiency.
• Analyzes financial data to support decision-making, regularly reviewing budget
performance and adjusting plans as needed to achieve program goals.
• Utilizes financial planning tools and methodologies to evaluate risks, prioritize
investments, and maintain compliance with corporate financial policies.
• Leads program risk management by proactively identifying risks, planning and executing
mitigation strategies and maintaining appropriate documentation, while ensuring the MST
team is aligned.
• Responsible for coordinating governance approvals for key program deliverables and
ensures accountability for results.
• Addresses and resolves program challenges, keeping relevant stakeholders informed of
critical considerations (e.g., resources, performance concerns). Provides clarity and
direction in urgent or unexpected situations.
• Manages and delivers program status reports and dashboards for assigned programs,
including scheduled as well as ad-hoc updates.
• Generates collaboration, cooperation and communication globally across divisions and
functions and across Global, Region and Local teams.
• Drives operational excellence through best practices and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree science or business-related field
• At least 4 years’ experience in leading complex pharmaceutical projects in a multi-
disciplinary, global environment
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and program management experience within
Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Regulatory, CMC, Marketing or other drug development
related function.
• Knowledge of the drug development and commercialization process and an understanding of the functions within the pharmaceutical industry
• Knowledge and experience in financial management, specifically budget planning and
operational expense management across multiple programs and assets.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly and present key information objectively and
collaborate effectively with management
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance guidelines governing medical affairs
• Applied knowledge of performance measurement (e.g. metrics, dashboards)
