Job Description

Title: Instructional Designer 
Duration: 8months
Location: Westlake, TX - Hybrid 3days a week

We are seeking a talented and versatile Instructional Designer and Training Content Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design and develop high-quality training content that drives learning engagement and effectiveness. You will collaborate across teams, lead projects independently when needed, and support department initiatives with excellence and speed.

What You’ll Do
• Design and develop training content, ensuring high quality, consistency, and learner engagement.
• Apply instructional design principles (ADDIE, adult learning theory, etc.) to build effective, scalable learning solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and team members to identify learning needs and translate them into creative learning deliverables.
• Lead assigned projects or initiatives independently, managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
• Support department projects and training initiatives, including assisting in project management tasks, updating learning materials, and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
• Deliver both complex, strategic training projects and complete quick-turn, tactical tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure training content is accessible, engaging, inclusive, and aligned with brand, tone, and organizational standards.
• Communicate project status proactively and escalate risks or needs in a timely and solutions-oriented manner.
• Partner closely with other training managers and cross-functional teams, stepping into both leadership and support roles as business needs dictate.

What You Have
• 7+ years of professional experience in instructional design, learning development, or a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PPT, Excel, Teams, etc.,) Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, SharePoint Site building, and experience with Allego or comparable learning enablement tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Video production and editing skills (e.g., Camtasia, PowerPoint, Canva)
• Strong experience with multimedia creation and integration: Comfort creating and incorporating videos, quizzes, knowledge checks, animations, and interactivity into courses.
• A strong sense of personal accountability: You take initiative, manage your time effectively, and consistently deliver high quality work ahead of deadlines without needing close supervision.
• Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and visual), with the ability to translate complex information into engaging, digestible learning content.
• Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator): Ability to create and update layouts to make content visually appealing.
• Storyboarding and scripting skills: Comfortable drafting outlines, storyboards, and scripts that structure learning logically before building the final product.
• A collaborative mindset: thrives in a team environment and builds positive relationships with colleagues at all levels.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work independently.
• Comfortable leading projects and taking ownership, while also very comfortable to "roll up sleeves" and support with administrative or repetitive tasks as needed.
• A growth mindset and adaptability to feedback and shifting priorities.
• Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and SCORM/xAPI standards.

Preferred But Not Required:
• Experience working in a corporate, compliance-driven, or regulated environment.
• Experience with change management or performance support.
• Experience with donor advise funds and philanthropic landscape
