- Works on large datasets (usually on Hadoop / Spark) with machine learning algorithms
- Creates predictive models, understands the' theory'–maths and stats behind the models
- Interprets and describes model behavior in jargon-free terms
- Responsible for data engineering activities using data pipeline and related tools
