Job Description
Senior Software Engineer
Duration: 6 months with potential to extend
Location: Home-based, primary NC; Other Locations: GA, FL, TX
This is a position on the clients software development team, our products focus on regulatory and compliance services within the US Mutual Fund space. You will work closely with our product owners and technical teams. You will also be an integral part of our software development team, maintaining and driving agile and SDLC best practices to efficiently deliver our product with a high level of quality.
Must Have Skills
• Excellent knowledge/experience of MS VC++ 6, C#, .Net Core, VB and MS SQL.
• Visual Studio 6 and modern VS 2022.
• InstallShield
• Strong backend development experience including proficiency with SQL.
• Well versed in converting legacy applications to modern technologies.
• Track record of working with data intensive applications.
• Git.
• Unit and integration testing.
• Worked in an agile/scrum environment.
• Strong understanding of the software development process, verification of functional and non-functional requirements.
• A collaborative team player who can work efficiently and autonomously with minimal
supervision.
• Translate business needs into designs and technical solutions, work closely with the business
and testers to deliver business requirements efficiently and with high quality.
Primary Responsibilities
• Role will be split between converting legacy components to modern .Net and contributing to
our client
data migrations, including maintaining and modifying the conversion tooling (C#/SQL).
• Provide State rule changes for our legacy application and package changes through
InstallShield
• Our development teams operate within a fast paced agile/scrum environment, you will be a part of and help improve our products to meet our customer needs.
• We are a Microsoft shop on the backend, so you will be expected to have good experience with relevant development tools (Visual Studio, MS SQL)
• You will advocate for quality and performance alongside engineering and business stakeholders
• You will have a delivery centric mindset, with a focus on value, reusability, and extensibility
• You will implement standards, patterns and advocate best practices/approaches that others within the team can support.
• You will support team members including the tech lead/architect and contribute to creation and implementation of software designs/architecture.
Experience
• 10+ years working with a VC++, VB, C#, .net, MS SQL
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required
