Position Title: Manufacturing Technician III
Work Location: Redwood City, CA 94063
Assignment Duration: 5 months
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Occasional overtime may be required.
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary:
This position, reporting to a Mfg. Manager, is responsible for supporting Sonata System integration, and supporting Sonata System refurbishing in system manufacturing environment. The job responsibility includes hands-on Sonata System assembling and testing, refurbishing field returned systems, including but not limiting to in-process inspections and verifications of system component builds, supporting Sonata System accessory builds, and processing manufacturing work orders such as issuing and closing work orders using computer.
Key Responsibilities:
• As part of the manufacturing team, the primary responsibility of a Manuf. Technician is to assemble, test and support production / manufacturing activity related to Sonata System integrations.
• The responsibility also includes inspections and verifications of system component builds, preparing manufacturing documentations for Sonata System builds, issuing and processing work orders using computer, supporting manufacturing where is required and needed resources to complete production builds (finished goods), preparing manufacturing documentations for refurbishing field returned systems, preparing manufacturing documentations for system accessory builds, and occasional assisting R&D to build prototypes and related activity.
• In addition, prepare labeling and production documentation, such as MPI’s, LHR’s, FRM’s, etc, in accordance with Quality System requirements.
• Perform testing, perform troubleshooting on production devices, or equipment in accordance with Engineering and Quality System requirements. May be required to keep a lab notebook to document processes and changes.
• May participate in design requirements for new products and product enhancements to facilitate transfer of products to manufacturing in a timely and reasonable fashion. May work directly with manufacturing staff to transfer product.
• Integrate / assemble components to build Sonata Systems in accordance with approved Process Instructions and production documentations.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Qualification & Experience:
• AA degree or equivalent experience in technical discipline.
• 3-5 years in medical device or similar product design and/or manufacturing.
• 0-3 years as Technician in Medical Device Company.
• Must be able to document activities clearly in lab notebooks.
• Previous experience in data collection from experiments preferred but not required.
• Ability to use computer software such Excel, Word, email, etc
• Ability to use ERP software such Oracle to open and close work orders, and to prepare manufacturing documentation for builds. Oracle experience is not required but it would be a plus.
• Ability to use Oracle Agile to update, modify or change production documents as required. Oracle experience is not required but it would be a plus.
• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) required.
• Ability to work independently or in team setting environment.
• Required Medical Device Experience - General Medical Devices
• Required ESD Experience: 1 General Knowledge
• Must have strong hands-on dexterity for small-part assembly (small tools, calipers; microscope work a plus).
• Must be adaptable in a fast-changing manufacturing environment; priorities may shift within hours.
• Must be comfortable with basic computer work: Excel updates, Word, and ERP work order activity (Oracle/Agile exposure a plus; training available).
• Regulated experience preferred (medical device first; pharma/GMP acceptable). Documentation mindset is important.
• Associate’s degree (AA) is strongly preferred per hiring manager/JD rationale (ability to interpret documents and flag discrepancies).
• Electro-mechanical assembly experience
• Basic experience using electrical testing equipment
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
