Job Title: Project/Program Manager II (Production Manager)
Location: Remote
Duration: 9 Months
Role Overview:
Client is seeking a Production Manager to support the end-to-end creation of physical books and eBooks in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment. This individual will manage production workflows, communicate across editorial and marketing teams, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality books.

Role Overview:
Client is seeking a Production Manager to support the end-to-end creation of physical books and eBooks in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment. This individual will manage production workflows, communicate across editorial and marketing teams, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality books.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and manage day-to-day book production workflows
- Ensure processes are efficient, documented, and scalable
- Coordinate timelines, set priorities, identify risks, and mitigate delays
- Oversee production schedules and maintain quality at each phase
- Manage relationships with vendors – file deliveries, issue resolution, quality reviews
- Ingest and archive final files in internal systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (cost/time reduction, quality improvement)
- Deliver metrics to evaluate operational efficiency
Team & Environment:
- Team Size: 6, spread across NY, Seattle, Michigan
- Highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Manage 30–40 titles at different production stages (print and Kindle)
- Work with Salesforce, Slack, and internal systems
- Every day varies depending on the book’s production stage
- Book production cycle: 6 months – 1 year
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years’ experience in production management (publishing industry preferred)
- Strong copy editing and quality control skills
- Experience in project management
- Exposure to both print and digital content workflows
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and own projects from start to finish
- Experience managing vendor relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4–5+ years in content production
- Experience in a publishing house, magazine, or content company
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Disqualifiers:

- Lack of relevant production/content/publishing experience
