Job Description

Location: Carolina, PR

Summary:
This position requires an advanced understanding of contractual terms and conditions. You will collaborate closely with legal counsel, contracts department owners, and various stakeholders to develop, update, and support the negotiation of contracts and other legal matters.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Provide expert legal support and advice to the management team on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and internal policies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct legal analysis and research on various legal matters relevant to the company.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings and liaise with external legal counsel.
  • Identify potential legal risks and develop preventive measures to mitigate them.
  • Ensure the company's operations comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on legal matters and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in the development of corporate legal strategy and direction.
  • Monitor the legal implications of new industry legislation and advise the company accordingly.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external parties such as regulators, public authorities, and providers.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience drafting and negotiating agreements.
  • A demonstrated understanding and strong working knowledge of applicable legal principles.
  • The ability to work on diverse contractual issues simultaneously.
  • The ability to frame, draft, and negotiate agreements.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Successfully work with and facilitate global cross-functional reviews with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to ensure that all deadlines are met on time and with a high degree of quality.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Skill in analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action.
  • Skill in contract negotiations and diplomacy.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, concessionaires and the public.

  • Ability to manage staff conducting a wide variety of functions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with customers and internal departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a deadline-oriented operation.
  • Ability to adapt easily to change.
  • Language skills in Spanish and English. Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence and make complex presentations of information, effectively, an individual or small group of customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals skills. Ability to compute rates, proportions and percentages, and draw and interpret simple graphs. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving some variables in common situations.
  • Customer service oriented.
