Job Description

Job Title: Technical Program Manager III/ Biocompatibility Scientist
Duration: 9 Months
Location: Remote

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced toxicology professional to lead the biocompatibility review of materials used in wearable and non-wearable products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ISO 10993 standards, demonstrated experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, biocompatibility testing, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical leader in Toxicology and Biocompatibility for all product lines.

  • Conduct in-depth toxicological assessments, including hazard identification and exposure assessments for materials.

  • Design and manage biocompatibility testing strategies to address key biocompatibility endpoints and gaps.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure the selection of biocompatible materials and identify safer alternatives.

  • Develop and drive harmonized biocompatibility processes, policies, and testing strategies across all product lines.

  • Communicate and engage with leadership on biocompatibility-related topics.

  • Represent the organization in external industry committees and working groups to help shape standards and guidance for wearable consumer electronic products.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Toxicology or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience, or M.S. in Toxicology or a related field with 7+ years of industry experience.

  • Proven experience in material review, toxicological risk assessments, creating dossiers, drafting SOPs, and developing restricted material specifications.

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO 10993 standards and biocompatibility assessments.

  • Strong understanding of analytical testing methodologies.

  • Experience with biological testing, alternative test methods, and predictive modeling.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills with a creative, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certification in Toxicology (DABT)

  • Experience in the consumer electronics industry
