Vice President, Data Center Infrastructure (Build & Operate)
Location: India / Hybrid
Travel Requirement: Regular travel to AI Factory sites and India business hubs required; international travel may be required
Reliance Intelligence is building one of the world's largest AI-native infrastructure platforms: an AI Factory that spans high-density data centers, GPU and CPU compute, storage and network fabric, AI cloud platform services, model serving, inferencing, and the operating systems that turn capacity into AI products.
The platform is being built for serious scale across India and global markets, supporting internal businesses, enterprise customers, developers, model providers, and autonomous AI platforms. This is full-stack AI infrastructure work, from physical buildout through cloud services through the model and inference layer that customers will actually consume.
We are looking for a Vice President, Data Center Infrastructure to own the build-to-operate lifecycle for the physical foundation of the AI Factory. This leader will integrate architecture, construction, utilities, projects, cooling, commissioning, and facilities operations into one disciplined delivery organization.
If you want to build the physical infrastructure foundation for AI compute at unprecedented scale, we want to hear from you.
Own the complete build-to-operate lifecycle across planning, architecture, engineering, construction, commissioning, facilities operations, reliability, and lifecycle management.
Lead the organizations responsible for AI data center architecture and design assurance, civil and construction, power and electrical utilities, cooling and water management, projects, and facilities operations/DCIM/BMS.
Own site strategy, P&L accountability, capex governance, vendor/EPC performance, and the overall delivery schedule for greenfield AI data center builds.
Define physical infrastructure strategy, long-term capacity planning, site development, reference architecture, engineering standards, design authority, and technical governance across sites.
Govern civil, structural, construction, EPC, QA/QC, safety, schedule, budget, and stage-gate delivery across greenfield and expansion programs.
Own power and electrical utility strategy across HV/MV supply, substations, EPMS, UPS/switchgear, generators, redundancy, commissioning, utility relationships, and electrical safety.
Lead cooling and water management strategy for high-density AI racks, including liquid cooling, HVAC, chillers, heat rejection, water efficiency, sustainability, PUE optimization, and emerging cooling technologies.
Establish integrated project controls across multi-site planning, interface management, vendor delivery, cost, schedule, risk, critical-path escalation, and executive reporting.
Ensure commissioning, operational readiness, handoff from build to run, 24x7 facilities operations, BMS/DCIM monitoring, preventive maintenance, incident response, uptime reporting, and continuous improvement.
Partner with compute and hardware infrastructure, AI cloud platform, model serving, security, finance, procurement, supply chain, enterprise PMO, and strategic infrastructure partners.
Build a high-performing leadership team with strong succession depth and a repeatable build-to-operate model for future AI Factory expansion.
You have 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in hyperscale data centers, cloud infrastructure, AI infrastructure, industrial infrastructure, or other large capital programs.
You have delivered large-scale infrastructure from design through construction, commissioning, handoff, and live operations.
You understand the practical dependencies across architecture, civil construction, power, cooling, utilities, projects, commissioning, facilities operations, and site readiness.
You have owned capital planning, vendor governance, operational readiness, safety, quality, reliability, and long-term scalability for high-stakes infrastructure programs.
You can lead experts across design assurance, EPC delivery, power systems, cooling systems, project controls, and facilities operations without flattening their differences.
You know how to run stage-gate governance in a way that catches risk early and still keeps the program moving.
You have enough technical fluency to ask hard questions about high-density AI data center design, liquid cooling, electrical resilience, utility tie-ins, BMS/DCIM, uptime, commissioning, and maintainability.
You are comfortable with global execution, significant India site engagement, and daily coordination across technical, commercial, vendor, and executive stakeholders.
You communicate clearly when schedule, quality, cost, safety, or reliability tradeoffs collide, and you can make recommendations that survive executive scrutiny.
You build leaders who own outcomes, manage risk honestly, and know how to escalate with options rather than noise.
You are energized by greenfield infrastructure where standards, operating models, and delivery culture must be created while the work is already in motion.
You care about making the physical layer boring in the best possible way: safe, reliable, scalable, efficient, and ready for the AI workloads that depend on it.
We are looking for people who use AI to raise the speed, quality, and ambition of the work while staying grounded in customers, teammates, and measurable outcomes.
We are hands-on with AI and technical tools, and we make ideas tangible through prototypes, clear artifacts, and working systems.
We move quickly, share work early, and keep refining until the product experience feels useful, polished, and memorable.
We focus on the hardest problems and the outcomes that matter, with the judgment to change course when the evidence points somewhere better.
We communicate clearly enough that teammates, leaders, and AI-assisted workflows can act on our thinking across time zones.
We collaborate with openness and respect, build on other people's ideas, and treat shared ownership as part of doing excellent work.
We speak up directly and constructively when something looks wrong, then commit fully once a decision is made.
