Job Description
Title: Lab Technician/Assistant I
Location: Tucson, AZ 85755
Duration: 12 Months
This is an onsite position, M-F, 7AM to 4:00PM MST
Orders and stocks office and laboratory supplies and equipment. Performs onsite servicing and technical support of various lab equipment including Benchmark autostainers. Manages incoming/outgoing stained slide and/or reagent shipments. May support several different functional lab spaces and groups.
Responsibilities
Performs daily, monthly and quarterly instrument and equipment maintenance and cleaning tasks.
Monitors and maintains usage logs for all equipment and instruments. Monitors, schedules and delivers portable equipment for calibration and maintains necessary paperwork.
Troubleshoots minor equipment malfunctions by performing operational tests.
Monitors and prepares bulk reagents daily.
Maintains stock room and monitors and/or orders lab supplies inventory.
Schedules internal equipment repairs and preventative maintenance as necessary.
Prepares and schedules incoming and outgoing stained slide and/or reagent shipments.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Key Skills Desired:
- Technical aptitude, including previous experience maintaining/servicing diagnostics or lab equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills, including experience in customer service dealing with the direct public (e.g., retail, restaurant, banking, or other service field)
- Strong capacity for handling simultaneous projects while strategically prioritizing critical tasks
Who You Are:
- 0–5 years of experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Knowledge of industry best practices
Preferred (Optional)
- Experience in research or diagnostic laboratories preferred
