Job Description

Title: Associate Supplier Manager
Duration: 2 years (FTE Possible)
Working hours: 9am-5pm ET
Office location: Toronto ON
Work Mode: Hybrid, 1x per week in office with additional in office days during training
 
Role Mandate:
  • The team is adding additional roles to assist with a new portfolio of supplier-managed business to support increased front-office volume.
  • The role will help oversee vendor negotiations, contract execution, and ongoing relationship management, ensuring appropriate legal entities, accurate invoicing, and proper allocation processes are in place.
  • They will ensure strong governance, including risk mitigation, compliance, and change management.
  • This role also collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to align priorities, streamline operations, and optimize partnership outcomes.
 Team Structure:
  • There will be a direct team of 4 for the new portfolio, on a large broader team of 70. They will each be assigned their own vendors, but there is a high level of collaboration between team members. 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Provides input to vendor management policy and procedures.
  • Participates in initiatives as a subject matter expert for an aspect(s) of vendor arrangement or business process.
  • Provides specialized support to investigate and resolve complex issues as escalated by end-users or assigned by management.
  • Supports management and implementation of documentation / process controls / knowledge assets required for the program operations.
  • Coordinates budgets and reporting to track actual results vs budget.
  • Prepare financial reconciliations and attestation certificates as required.
  • Educates and cross trains other team members as required.
  • Supports the development and promotion of a business/group vendor management program solution.
  • Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of supplier arrangements.
  • Participates in the relationship management between Bank’s internal business/group partners and suppliers/service providers.
  • Supports the management of the vendor program, including developing program components, promoting the program and ensuring the execution of all program components and product(s)/service(s) are delivered according to the contractual service level agreement (SLA), technical service agreement (TSA) or business partner agreement (BPA), in compliance with standards.
  • Monitors and tracks supplier performance and addresses any issues.
  • Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service for routine & non-routine transactions related to the program execution.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide program insights and recommendations.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within Bank’s; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying our Risk Management Framework in the execution of your role, in line with our Risk Culture and within our approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents (Frameworks, Policies, Standards, Procedures and Supporting documents), laws and regulations. 
Must Have Skills:
  • Typically, between 2-4 years of relevant experience, less experience is required if candidate has recently completed a relevant postsecondary
  • Knowledge and experience in supporting vendor programs - In-depth.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Postsecondary, especially relevant
  • Previous FI experience, especially former Bank’s
  • Coupa experience
  • Comfort with Copilot or other AI skills
  • Intermediate or advanced excel skills 
Interviews:
1-2 rounds with hiring manager and team member, 30 minutes either in person or over teams
