Position Title: Research Operations – Senior Associate
Work Location: Thousand Oaks, CA, USA, 91320
Assignment Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Work Schedule: Standard Working Hours
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite

 
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented scientist to join our high-performing Discovery Proteomics team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in conducting high-throughput drug screening, ensuring high-quality and reproducible results in a fast-paced research environment.
 
Background & Context
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of relevant experience (3+ years preferred)
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize automation systems to prepare samples for proteomics-based, high-throughput drug screening activities with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to plan, execute, and meticulously document experiments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain advanced instrumentation, including state-of-the-art LC-MS systems.
  • Follow established experimental protocols for bottom-up proteomics analyses, including immunoaffinity purification and other enrichment strategies.
 
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline required.
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in bottom-up proteomics sample preparation.
  • Experience with liquid handling systems for automated sample processing.
  • Proven experience maintaining liquid chromatography (LC) and/or mass spectrometry (MS) systems.
  • Familiarity with a range of biochemical and cellular techniques, including SDS-PAGE, immunoprecipitation, and mammalian cell work (preferred).
  • Strong skills in sample processing and preparation for mass spectrometry analysis (nice to have).
  • Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and thorough record keeping.
 
Education & Experience Equivalencies
  • Master’s degree, or
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, or
  • Associate degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or
High school diploma/GED with 8+ years of relevant experience
