Job Title: Sourcing Manager / Contract Manufacturing Commercial Manager
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite)
Job Summary:
In this role, you will leverage your experience and expertise in strategic sourcing, contract manufacturing, and supplier management to lead procurement and supplier engagement for new and existing hardware products. You will be responsible for driving supplier selection, contract negotiation, cost optimization, and performance management across the supply chain to support production readiness and scalability.
Major Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

Lead supplier sourcing and engagement for New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing production.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Conduct supplier evaluations, manage supplier scorecards, and lead quarterly business reviews.

Negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and commercial terms to ensure competitive and flexible business arrangements.

Drive supplier alignment with organizational manufacturing roadmaps and sustainability objectives.

Manage supplier relationships for contract manufacturers (Tier 1 and Tier 2), ensuring adherence to commercial and technical requirements.

Lead cost modeling and analysis to identify negotiation levers and savings opportunities.

Support supplier capacity planning, production scaling, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Program & Project Management

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Quality to support build readiness and schedule adherence.

Drive execution of sourcing deliverables across multiple programs and timelines.

Track supplier milestones, deliverables, and approval gates to ensure timely handoffs.

Monitor project budgets and proactively identify risks and mitigation plans.

Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on sourcing performance, contract status, and spend analysis.
Contract Management & Governance

Own the end-to-end contract lifecycle from drafting to execution.

Ensure contract compliance with corporate, legal, and ethical standards.

Partner with Legal and Finance to align commercial terms, pricing models, and payment schedules.

Maintain and update supplier documentation, agreements, and change records.
Supplier Development & Performance

Identify and onboard new suppliers to support product and technology roadmaps.

Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives in cost, delivery, and quality.

Support corrective actions, audits, and compliance assessments as needed.

Collaborate with suppliers to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration from an accredited institution.

5–8 years of experience in sourcing, contract manufacturing, or supply chain management.

Experience managing Asia-based suppliers (China, India, or Southeast Asia).

Proven success in contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and cost reduction programs.

Experience with consumer electronics, hardware manufacturing, or mechanical systems sourcing preferred.

PMP certification or formal Project Management experience preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of contract manufacturing operations, sourcing strategy, and supplier management processes.

Skilled in contract drafting, commercial negotiation, and risk management.

Proficient with cost analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO), and financial modeling.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to influence cross-functionally and at multiple levels.

Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and sourcing/procurement tools (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa).

Understanding of supply chain compliance, sustainability, and ESG principles.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience in consumer electronics or hardware sourcing with top-tier contract manufacturers (e.g., Foxconn, Flex, Jabil, Pegatron).

Familiarity with should-cost modeling, supply chain analytics, and global logistics.

Experience working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

PMP certification or Six Sigma training a plus.

Experience with Asian supplier ecosystems and multilingual capability (Mandarin or Hindi) beneficial.
