Job Description

Position: Network Engineer IV
Duration: 12 months
Location: Onsite Seattle WA


We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with deep technical expertise and a proven track record in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures. This role requires strong IP networking fundamentals, extensive experience with routing protocols, and a passion for automation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain advanced network systems.

  • Apply expert knowledge of IP protocols, routing, and switching.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues with speed and precision.

  • Implement automation scripts and tools to improve network operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust networking solutions.


Required Experience & Skills

Industry Experience:

  • 7+ years of hands-on networking industry experience.

Networking Expertise:

  • Excellent IP networking fundamentals.

  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with BGP and OSPF.

  • Strong understanding of major router platforms (Cisco 37xx, 49xx, 65xx, 73xx, 76xx) and all compatible supervisory/line cards.

  • Excellent network analysis fundamentals and troubleshooting skills.

Protocols & Technologies (Significant Experience in Many of the Following):

  • Routing & Switching: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, TCP, VLANs/STP.

  • Transport & Optical: DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48).

  • Security & Monitoring: IPSEC, VPNs, TACACS, NetFlow.

  • Multicast & Addressing: PIMv2, IGMP, IPv4 & IPv6.

  • Applications & Services: DNS, HTTP.

Automation Skills:

  • Proficiency in Bash, Python, or Java scripting/coding for automation.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.


Top 3 Must-Have Skills (Stack Ranked)

  1. Networking Fundamentals – Expert level.

  2. Automation – Strong scripting/coding ability.

  3. Troubleshooting – Proven experience resolving complex network issues.


Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.

  • Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, etc.) strongly preferred.
