Job Title: Data Center Structural Engineer III
Duration: 6 months with high possibility of extension/conversion
Location: Onsite (Seattle, WA)
 
Job description
Daily responsibilities will include utilizing Revit to design the BIM model for Mechanical Controls Systems of Data Centers. You must be able to work independently and work within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
Your duties will include:

• Be self-motivated and work within the Controls Design, MEP group, as well as within other teams.
• Preparing and developing detailed Revit models of Control Systems relating to Mechanical building systems.
• Developing & publishing construction documentation for Control Systems relating to Mechanical designs in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables.
• Updating and modifying the new Controls models and construction documents as required after first of a kind (FOAK) creation.
• Assist with creating and maintaining standard regional BIM templates.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution.
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
• Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers.
• Provide coordination support for information requests during construction phases.
• Recording and reporting of key metrics to management.
• 5+ years of design/engineering experience of Controls or Mechanical building systems for mission critical facilities.
• 4+ years’ experience using Revit for producing engineering BIM models and construction drawings.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of Controls, Mechanical codes (IPC, or UPC) and safety regulations.

 
Must Haves

• Licensed Structural engineer
• 7+ years of Structural design engineering for Commercial and Industrial Projects
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards including IBC & ASCE

 
Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience with design of Data Centers, Mission Critical Facilities, Hospital, Schools, or highly complex Commercial Tower facilities.
• Ability to evaluate the constructability of new technologies and determine construction methods of data center equipment and facilities. To perform and present business case analysis. Ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
