Job Title: Mechanical Engineer V
Location: Seattle, WA, US
Duration: 6-Month Contract
Services to Be Performed

Pipe Stress Load Analysis & Optimization: Review and optimize structural load criteria for liquid cooling piping systems and connections, analyzing component gravity loads and seismic/thermal combinations.

BOD Documentation & Standards Development: Enhance load documentation within Basis of Design (BOD) documents for liquid cooling systems, ensuring accurate racking load criteria and structural requirements. Develop process runbooks to standardize workflows.

Project-Level Technical Review: Evaluate liquid cooling submittals across multiple projects to ensure standardization and proper structural integration.

Cross-Team Coordination: Collaborate with racking teams, MPS, and racking vendors to align on load calculations, connection designs, and pipe support strategies.

Process Improvement: Work with construction teams to improve coordination workflows between pipe and racking systems.
Required Skills
-
ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
-
PE or SE Engineering license
-
5+ years in pipe stress, connection design, and pipe support
-
7+ years in structural design for industrial or commercial projects
-
Proficiency with building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, etc.)

Experience designing auxiliary framing systems (cable tray, conduit, ductwork supports)

Experience reviewing non-structural components and non-building structures

Background in Construction Administration

Strong communication and technical writing skills
Preferred Skills

ABET-accredited Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
