Role: ICT Design Engineer Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid) Secondary Locations: Northern Virginia/Dulles, VA & (Austin, TX) Duration: 12 Months
We are seeking an experienced ICT Design Engineer to support the design and engineering of critical communications pathways, spaces, and cabling within mission-critical facilities.The engineer will work closely with Architecture, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Security, and Controls teams to develop ICT infrastructure designs and construction documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop scalable inside- and outside-plant ICT designs, including drawings and specifications.
Design telecom pathways, spaces, cabling, and related infrastructure.
Coordinate ICT designs with MEP and CSA teams.
Review and approve ICT space, pathway, cabling, and equipment submittals.
Perform construction administration, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field surveys.
Generate site reports based on field conditions.
Identify and address project risks and high-priority issues.
Coordinate with construction teams to develop timely solutions.
Support assigned projects from design through construction and deployment.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of ICT design experience in mission-critical environments.
5+ years of experience developing construction and/or permitting design documentation.
5+ years of experience with fiber optics, cabling, interconnect products, technologies, and standards.
Experience working in mission-critical facilities, such as data centers, power generation, or oil & gas facilities.
Experience researching new ICT designs, technologies, and construction methods.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
BICSI RCDD certification or internationally recognized equivalent such as CDCP/CDCDP/DCDC.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
Experience taking design concepts from development through deployment.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
Previous experience working as a contract/contingent engineer within a large enterprise environment.
Engagement Details
12-month temporary/contingent engagement.
Hybrid work arrangement with occasional site/field surveys.
The position is focused on assigned ICT design projects and deliverables.
Candidate will work closely with engineering and construction teams.
Engagement may be extended based on business requirements.
