Job Title: Controllers - Operations - Reconciliations - Analyst
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: Salt Lake City, UT
 
Job Summary
The Reconciliations Team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the firm’s books and records. This team performs daily intercompany, internal, and external reconciliations while identifying and escalating discrepancies across Operations teams. The role involves analyzing settlement and trade activity, mitigating operational risk, and supporting process improvements through automation and workflow optimization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced financial operations environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily transaction and position reconciliations to ensure the firm’s books and records are accurate using proprietary systems and automation tools such as Alteryx.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies by conducting detailed research, analysis, and follow-up activities.
  • Collaborate with teams across Global Banking & Markets Operations and Asset & Wealth Management Operations to ensure timely discrepancy resolution.
  • Identify operational risks, inefficiencies, and process gaps while escalating issues appropriately to management.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend process improvements to enhance reconciliation completeness and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage self-service automation tools for workflow and process enhancements.
  • Perform month-end responsibilities, including procedure reviews and break investigations, to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet overall group goals and deliverables through effective prioritization and time management.
 
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong audit, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail with a strong control and risk-management mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate complex operational issues to diverse audiences
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player with strong ownership and accountability
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced team environment
  • Experience explaining complex operational workflows to varied audiences
  • Exposure to reconciliation, operations, risk analysis, or financial services environments preferred
  • Familiarity with automation and data analysis tools such as Alteryx is a plus
