Position Summary The primary role of this position is to provide mechanical design support for ARY Engineering's various manufacturing clients in the Pacific Northwest. This will involve completing daily activities at ARY's main office in Richland, Washington, as well as at active production facilities across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all company and client safety policies and procedures. Demonstrate ownership and leadership in personal safety and the safety of others. Be actively involved in promoting and enhancing our safety culture.
Produce fabrication-ready drawings with appropriate dimensioning, tolerancing, weld callouts, finishes, and bills of material.
Coordinate with engineers and fabricators to optimize the constructability and cost effectiveness of designs.
Verify the technical accuracy of completed drawing packages before release.
Build and maintain design templates, part libraries, and title blocks that adhere to applicable standards.
Maintain disciplined configuration control across design files and released drawing sets.
Verify existing facility conditions using the latest 3D scanning technology.
Support Scan-to-BIM and Scan-to-CAD efforts by modeling equipment from point cloud data as needed.
Proactively manage and communicate the status of outstanding tasks to the assigned Project Manager.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within internal processes and discuss findings with key stakeholders.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
AAS in Engineering Technology (CAD) or equivalent. Relevant experience may be substituted for this requirement.
Demonstrated ability to develop design concepts from client requirements, sketches, and on-site conditions.
Experience coordinating with engineers, fabricators, and internal staff on complex design projects.
Exposure to food and beverage processing, or heavy manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with 3D scanning technology.
Proficiency in modeling existing facility conditions from point cloud data.
Physical Demands: This position requires the physical ability to work in a traditional office environment and industrial facilities. The physical demands that can be expected are as follows:
Extended periods of sedentary work.
Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, and lifting of up to 30 pounds.
Occasionally stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
Conducting work in uncomfortable surroundings.
