Duration: 12 months
Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite)
 
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer III to support our enterprise-scale, mission-critical networking environments. This role requires strong expertise in IP networking fundamentals, routing protocols, network automation, and cloud networking. The engineer will work closely with technical teams, own configuration updates, and ensure highly available network infrastructure.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and core technologies (IP, TCP, OSPF, BGP, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM).
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot IPv4/IPv6-based networks.
  • Work with major routing/switching platforms: Cisco Catalyst & Nexus, Juniper SRX/QFX/MX.
  • Run scripts to generate network configs, update code packages, and issue change requests (CRs).
  • Travel to Lab sites to apply and validate network configurations.
  • Develop automation solutions using Python, Bash, Perl, or Shell to streamline processes.
  • Work with cloud networking in AWS using Terraform or CDK.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and technical teams to resolve issues.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and flexible working hours when needed.
  • Lead improvements in existing processes and identify new process development opportunities.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of industry experience in network engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge of IP networking fundamentals (IPv4/IPv6).
  • In-depth experience with BGP & OSPF routing protocols.
  • Strong troubleshooting and network analysis skills.
  • Experience with multiple vendor platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
  • 3+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols (Layers 1–4).
  • 3+ years of Linux/Unix environment experience.
  • 3+ years of automation scripting (Python, Bash, Shell, Perl).
  • Cloud networking experience (preferably AWS with Terraform/CDK).
  • Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
  • Experience working in a highly available, production-grade environment.
  • Hands-on lab experience.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certification (Networking focus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience with advanced networking features: MPLS, GSLB, anycast, multicast, VRRP, MSTP, TACACS, VPN, IPSEC, Netflow, SNMP, Syslog.
 
Top 3 Must-Have Skills (Stack Ranked):
  • Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Strong expertise in IP Routing (OSPF, BGP)
  • Hands-on experience with firewall vendor platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)
