Title: Technical Engineer
Duration: 3 Months 

Timeline: Start asap thru end of year with possibility of extending (dependent upon business need and performance, not a guarantee)
Location: Lake County, Illinois is 60085.
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days on-site with 2 days remote (will consider a remote schedule for the right candidate but preference is given to local candidates)

Position Summary:

Client is looking for a Technical Engineer who understands how a company’s websites work, place Cloudflare in front of them, configure security rules, automate and test the changes, safely switch traffic over, monitor the results, fix problems, and coordinate with all the teams involved. This role partners with application, security, network, and infrastructure teams to develop technical solutions, automate configurations, support production cutovers and hypercare, and continuously improve cloud security engineering practices. A good fit will be someone with network security and or programing background who has a high-level knowledge of web security, firewall, and infrastructure code. A familiarity with Cloudflare will be a plus.

Job Description:

• Provides technical design, implementation, & operational support for WAF migrations to Cloudflare. Applies IT knowledge, specialized technical experience, research, and analysis to create technical solution specification that meets requirements.
• Knowledgeable in common tools that support area of expertise Drives implementation and provides technical support for escalated operational incidents and problems. High level knowledge of Web Security, WAF, Firewall, IAC, & CI/CD Pipeline.
• Monitors and reports task assignment progress and status as required and escalates risks and issues to key stakeholders. Meet with Application owners to better understand their applications. Coordinate implementation of Cloudflare solutions & support hypercare during cutover. Proactively identifies opportunities for continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies, tools and engineering methods that are applicable within area of responsibility and expertise.

Job Requirements:

• Experience Level : 1-3 Years IT experience
• Level of Education: Bachelor of Computer Science (IT/Information Security) or Equivalent Certificates or Work Experience
• Ability to work in a Team environment
• Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 32-40 hours with weekend cutover support required in some cases - 3 Days on Site/ 2 Days Remote (will consider a remote schedule for the right candidate but preference is given to local candidates)
