 Job Title: Project Manager II – Data Operations
Location: Mettawa, IL (3 days per week on-site)
Duration: 8 months

Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver complex projects on time and within scope. This includes proficiency in managing timelines, dependencies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Risk Management and Problem-Solving Skills: Competence in identifying potential risks, developing mitigation plans, and proactively resolving issues to ensure successful project outcomes.
Data Integration and Database Design Knowledge: Familiarity and experience with data acquisition, integration processes, and database design to effectively anticipate steps and dependencies for data-related projects.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to facilitate collaboration, lead learning sessions, and produce concise, leadership-ready reports and documentation.
Continuous Improvement: Experience in conducting retrospectives or similar sessions to identify opportunities for process enhancements, and effectively implementing improvements within a large matrixed organization.
 
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to support our Data Operations team. The ideal candidate will excel at managing timelines and dependencies across both business requirements gathering and technology implementation. They will ensure effective collaboration between stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget while providing appropriate visibility to leadership on project value delivery.
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead project planning activities, including defining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines.
• Manage project dependencies to ensure seamless integration of business requirements and technical solutions.
• Establish and execute a light process to track data acquisition requests from initial internal client outreach through delivery to consumption environments.
• Coordinate with BTS (Business Technology Solutions) teams to onboard new data, ensuring smooth integration into existing systems and environments.
• Organize and lead Lessons Learned Meetings to reflect on completed project milestones, identifying successes and opportunities for improvement; Translate improvement opportunities into actionable enhancements to operational processes, working with relevant stakeholders to implement changes.
• Create and maintain process documentation to ensure transparency, consistency, and efficiency in project operations.
• Take detailed notes and gather feedback during project status meetings to provide accurate and actionable insights.
• Create leadership-ready, concise summaries of project progress, value delivered, identified risks, and corresponding mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and document project progress in Jira Oboard and in powerpoint deliverables to governance bodies
 
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in data operations or data integration projects.
• Experience driving complex projects in a large matrixed organization, with demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and build consensus among diverse teams.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration and discussions.
• Ability to create succinct, leadership-quality reports that clearly communicate project status.
• Strong understanding of database design and data integration processes.
• Proficient in project management tools and software (JIRA preferred).
• Experience leading projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Education and Experience:
• 4+ years of experience in project management, 2+ specifically within the data operations domain.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile Scrum Master) are a plus.
