Job Title: Quality Control Technician
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Clayton, NC 27527
Description:
Years of experience required : 0+ w/degree or certification
Entry level skill accepted due to basic job functions
level 1 = 1-3 years exp
Max 2 year tenure, must roll off 6 months for additional time in the event the associate spans beyond projected 6 month need.
**Responsibilities:**
- Perform routine documentation in compliance with company standards.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including assisting with maintenance and calibration events.
- Perform housekeeping and ensure area upkeep according to organizational standards.
- Support low-complexity tasks (e.g., pH, weighing, pipetting).
- Maintain inventory for consumables and reagents, ordering, preparing, and restocking as necessary.
- Support systematic problem-solving efforts and laboratory investigations, identifying deviations, and following corrective actions.
- Clean laboratory glassware and organize laboratory stations according to 5S standards.
- Document findings in adherence with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Handle and dispose of biohazard and hazardous waste in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Perform routine, preventive maintenance on basic lab equipment.
- Comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and ethical standards, including healthcare laws, regulatory guidelines, and industry codes.
- Execute assigned laboratory activities and methods with minimal guidance.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for 50% or more of the time.
- Exposure to noise, odors, fumes, and/or hazardous chemicals may be required.
- May involve frequent sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements, including grasping, typing, and pipetting.
**Qualifications:**
**Education:**
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a scientific field such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or a related discipline preferred.
**Work Experience:**
- Minimum of 0–1 year related experience required (depending on educational background).
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a regulated industry preferred.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
- Familiarity with general lab equipment and techniques, including pipetting and buffer preparation.
- Ability to follow established written protocols, including standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy, including email, word processing, and database management tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards such as GMP, GDP, and GLP is preferred but not required.
- Ability to learn and retain technical information, while being adaptable to process improvements.
- Effective collaboration skills, with a willingness to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Mathematical and quantitative reasoning skills for basic calculations.
