Job Description The Equity Settlement Associate plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate settlement of global securities transactions. This position supports operational processes related to trade settlement, cash management, and specialized functions such as asset servicing and wire payment operations. The role requires strong attention to detail, compliance awareness, and the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Settlement Operations
Execute and monitor global securities settlements.
Resolve breaks, confirmations, and discrepancies promptly.
Manage cash movements and ensure accurate postings in the bank’s books and records.
Operational Support
Provide guidance on corporate actions and entitlements.
Act as backup for team members and manager.
Assist in workflow coordination, quality control, and training initiatives.
Identify and escalate risk breakdowns in processes.
Support business continuity planning and testing.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in process enhancements and system upgrades.
Analyze data for insights and recommend improvements.
Must Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (preferred).
5-10 years of experience in securities settlement or capital markets operations.
Proficiency in relevant systems and tools.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and risk management principles.
Broadridge platforms: BPS, GFW, PostEdge
BONY systems and Treasury Edge
Clearing and settlement portals: DTCC, NSCC, CDS, DTC/OCC/Arrow
Tools: GEMS, IMatch, Global Framework
Familiarity with BNY BDC for FED eligible securities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage complex issues independently.
Effective communication and stakeholder management.
Knowledge of risk management and operational controls.
