Description:This position serves as BCBSFs clinical expert in working with providers, facilities and subscribers in overseeing the wellbeing of subscribers while ensuring the proper administration of benefits, cost effectiveness, and the coordination of the delivery of quality care.Essential functions: Conduct onsite review of subscribers medical information in order to ensure appropriate benefit administration. Consult with providers, facilities staff, subscribers and their families to ensure cost efficiencies in the delivery of care. Coordinate with internal and external sources in the ongoing management of subscribers care.Gather and review subscribers medical information in order to schedule, based on criticality, onsite reviews. Apply clinical expertise in the completion of subscribers medical documentation, which become legal documents and part of subscribers file.Conduct weekly reviews with internal and external sources on the care and services provided by BCBSF to subscribers. Review and resolve complex processing issues and utilization management cases, ensuring accurate and timely Medical Review processing of designated PreService healthcare services Responsible for more complex review requests. Review and authorize, as appropriate, phonefax referralauthorization and clinical form requests to determine benefit coverage and medical necessity per established criteria meeting compliance standards and timeframes Process PreService Medical Review requests received via phone following internal policies and procedures accurately, timely and with attention to detail Research requests not clearly meeting established criteria Conduct review of subscribers medical information in order to ensure appropriate benefit administration. Abstract clinical case presented, review cases and potential denials with the Medical Directors Coordinate and maintain complete written documentation on all prior authorizations requests.
