Job Description
Position Title: Laboratory Technician
Work Location: Indianapolis, IN, USA, 46077
Assignment Duration: 12 Months
Work Schedule: 40 hours, 8am-5pm (flex)
Work Arrangement: 100% Lab-based (on-site)
Position Summary:
Aids in developing agricultural products by generating lab data for regulatory submissions.
Background & Context:
Under the general direction of the Fate & Metabolism lab leader, the incumbent aids in the development of new agricultural products and new uses for existing products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in the planning, conduct, and reporting of studies to support product registration and to develop biologically active research chemicals
- Supports laboratory testing and data generation as outlined by the study directors for the Fate and Metabolism studies
- Trains technicians, contractors, and part-time students in the conduct, sample preparation, and data collection for Fate & Metabolism studies
- Operate laboratory instrumentation, including balances, centrifuges, gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatographs, mass spectrometers, and liquid scintillation counters
- Interface with instrument/equipment owners and the Lab Operations team to maintain system performance and minimize downtime
- Complies with laboratory safety procedures, Environmental Protection Agency Good Laboratory Practices Standards, National Regulatory Commission requirements for use and handling of radioactive materials, other study-specific regulatory requirements and other pertinent regulatory agency requirements
- Documents activities in the required manner
- Maintenance of neat, accurate, and complete records
- Interfaces with essential individuals in the Regulatory Science function of our organization
- Interact positively with all members of the Fate & Metabolism group to foster a team approach to projects
Qualification & Experience:
- An E-fate & Metabolism Technician should have a general knowledge of chemistry
- An understanding of GLP regulations, computers, and laboratory techniques is desirable
- A minimum of a BS degree and/or relevant experience is desired
- Lab experience required
- Fresh Grad okay
- GLP experience highly preferred
- BS in Chemistry or related field
- HPLC Experience
- Need experience in Wet Chemistry, HPLC, GLP
- GMP and ISO is okay
- Need to be interested in a long term assignment due to training schedules
- Work with C-14 materials in a GLP Lab
- Chemistry background most helpful
- Biology doesn’t translate well in this lab
- Need to have Chemistry/Bio Chemistry
- Their studies also range from 18-34 months - working with new chemistries & molecules so they must be able to pay attention to detail
