Job Description

Job Title: Staff Project Controls Specialist
Location: Englewood, CO 80112
Duration: 12-months Assignment (Potential to temp to perm)
Shift/Hours: 40hours/week, M to F
 
Summary:
  • The Staff Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes for the internal project management team, ensuring project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in project controls software (Oracle Primavera P6 preferred), and a deep understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project management.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage project setup and data analysis within the Enterprise Planning & Controls software (and other relevant tools). This includes creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), developing and maintaining schedules, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts.
  • Oversee all aspects of project planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control for multiple EPC projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project team technical questions regarding project controls.
  • Manage and approve purchase orders and subcontracts, ensuring proper coding.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department on project cost reviews, contingency planning, and external audits.
  • Review and manage change orders (prime contract, purchase orders, and subcontracts).
  • Develop and present comprehensive cash flow reports and various schedule reports (including critical path analysis and resource loading).
  • Implement and maintain an earned value management system, including progress measurement, progress curves, and material takeoffs.
  • Conduct field audits to validate reporting accuracy and processes.
  • Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
  • Perform schedule "what-if" scenarios and project forensic analysis (as needed).
  • Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • There is a small potential the resource would be required to participate in site visits which would require driving and potentially overnight stays at the site location.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and 3 years of direct project controls experience; or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification (ability to obtain is acceptable).
