Job Description Client's Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems has an exciting opportunity for multiple ASIC/FPGA Verification Engineers to join the Electronic Products team in El Segundo or Huntington Beach, CA. From complex digitally beamformed phased arrays for constellation satellite programs to computing and networking equipment for commercial airplanes, the Electronic Products group develops ASICs and FPGAs that are at the heart of the client's products. The team leverages leading-edge technology and works with world-class partners to develop some of the most complex System-on-Chips (SoCs) in the industry. Engineers develop robust, high-performance custom processors using the latest ARM IP to enable high-integrity, low SWAP-C flight computers while utilizing advanced digital IC design processes and industry-leading tools. This diverse development portfolio provides exposure across multiple business units, including Space & Launch, AvionX, Missiles & Weapons, Strike, Surveillance & Mobility, and Autonomous Systems. As an ASIC/FPGA Verification Engineer, you will develop state-of-the-art digital ICs/SoCs supporting critical programs across the enterprise while collaborating with electronics teams across multiple locations.
Position Responsibilities
Design and implement ASIC/FPGA verification environments using UVM and SystemVerilog.
Develop self-checking and reusable test benches from the ground up using Object-Oriented Programming concepts such as inheritance and polymorphism.
Build UVM components including drivers, monitors, predictors, and scoreboards.
Create Functional Coverage Models and perform Code Coverage analysis to ensure comprehensive verification during simulation.
Develop regression test suites and collect coverage metrics to monitor verification progress.
Assist in FPGA-based prototyping and validation based on program and system requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure verification strategies align with project goals and schedules.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent non-U.S. qualification.
Proven experience with ASIC/FPGA verification processes.
Experience defining ASIC/FPGA verification architecture using SystemVerilog and UVM, including production design releases.
Strong knowledge of hardware verification languages, particularly SystemVerilog and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
Experience implementing verification test plans.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts, including inheritance and polymorphism.
Experience developing reusable, self-checking test benches.
Experience developing Functional Coverage Models and achieving Code Coverage closure.
Ability to collaborate with design and systems engineering teams to define accurate and verifiable ASIC/FPGA specifications.
Experience using waveform debugging tools.
Experience with revision control systems such as SVN, CVS, and Git.
Proficiency working in Linux environments.
Preferred Skills
10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience integrating and testing ASIC/FPGA hardware.
Experience using hardware emulators, particularly Cadence Palladium.
Experience with high-speed SerDes interfaces such as JESD204C, PCIe, and Ethernet.
Proficiency with scripting languages including Make, Perl, Python, or similar.
Familiarity with space-based hardware design techniques and radiation mitigation methods.
Demonstrated history of first-pass ASIC design success.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent qualification.
Preferred candidates will have 10+ years of related engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
