Basic Job Functions:
Client’s Business Technology is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Data, BI, and Analytics Department Manager. This role is critical to Client’s’s transformation into a data-driven enterprise. The successful candidate will lead the development and execution of a modern data and analytics strategy, overseeing both legacy environments and the implementation of cloud-based data, BI, and analytics platforms. This leader will be responsible for building and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise data architecture, data governance, and analytics delivery. They will be adept at working across business and IT teams in a federated model and will bring a strategic mindset to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
 
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Lead the Data, BI, and Analytics department in delivering enterprise-wide data capabilities that amplifies the power of Client’s through technology, information and digital innovation.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team of data engineers, analysts, and architects.
  • Be a servant leader for your teams, ensuring they have the necessary training, resources, and support to excel and grow in their roles.
  • Lead the modernization of Client’s’s data ecosystem, including the migration to cloud-native platforms such as Azure Databricks, Microsoft PowerBI (Fabric Platform), and Informatica Data Management Cloud.
  • Ensure continuity and performance of existing enterprise BI and data warehouse environments.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data, business intelligence, and analytics strategy that align with organizational goals, drives data-driven decision-making, and deliver actionable insights across all product groups.
  • Establish and lead data governance practices, including data stewardship, quality, and compliance frameworks.
  • Establish a center of excellence (COE) for data, BI, and analytics.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to define and prioritize data, BI, and analytics initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with IT consulting and contracting vendor partners, ensuring they deliver high-quality services in accordance with contractual obligations and business requirements.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies providing thought leadership and guidance to the client’s teams and the broader IT organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing leading practices and lessons learned across the organization.
 
This is a full-time position located in the Charlotte, NC office and will require moderate travel to our various Client’s locations.
 
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Client’s; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in data and analytics leadership roles.
  • Proven experience implementing enterprise-scale cloud data fabric architectures and data domain operating models.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and maintaining traditional enterprise BI platforms, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines using tools such as PowerBI, Informatica, and SQL Server.
  • Experience managing remote teams, including teams that may be in different countries.
  • Experience managing IT consulting and contractor partners.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of delivering business value through data.

  • Business Intelligence Development: Knowledge of business development tools or systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets or outputs.
  • Coaching & Developing Others: Identifying the strengths and developmental needs of others to include coaching, mentoring, teaching, training, or otherwise helping others to improve their skills to work effectively.
  • Initiative/Innovative: Being proactive with seeking out work that needs to be done and being willing to take on responsibilities and challenges to include introducing new ideas for the continuous improvement of the work area.
  • Dependability: Being reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling obligations.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) and other modern data platform components.
  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks and enterprise data catalogs.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience with tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Experience establishing a center of excellence for large enterprises (COE).
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps Agile program management platform.
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology.
